Eilean Shona House is let on a self-catering basis – you may wish to cook and cater entirely for yourselves. Alternatively, bring your own cook or have some dishes and meals prepared by Jill Gosney, a wonderful chef who lives on the mainland nearby.
Paul Waddington, and Hughena McPhee are the full time employees on Eilean Shona. They will help make your stay a truly memorable experience.
The nearest supermarket is in Fort William however a number of local suppliers do deliver to Dorlin pier. There is plenty of freezer and fridge space so only one shop should be necessary per week however big your party.

Just in case you want to leave Eilean Shona, included in the price of the house, on top of your transfers for your stay, is one ferry trip to the mainland. The boat will leave the pontoon at 9.00am on Wednesday to drop you off at the Jetty on the mainland. This will return to pick you up at 5pm.
If you require to leave the island outside of these times, please speak to Paul to arrange your travel. There will be a charge of £50.00 each way for this additional service.
Included in your stay at Eilean Shona house there will be some basic housekeeping done. The team will check bathrooms and empty bins. If Hughena does have time it may be possible to negotiate extra hours and help with the laundry.
The west coast of Scotland is pristine and has hundreds of secluded inlets and beaches to explore. Shona offers safe anchorage to those wanting to bring their own yacht or rib. There are three sea kayaks available for the main house. We highly recommend bringing your own paddleboards, we do have three on the island, and kayaks too.
There are a number of wonderful local bands, pipers and singers if you wish to add some Highland style to a celebration – Hughena has all the contact numbers.

The Island has a little shop selling essentials, such as frozen meals, milk, butter, bread, firelighters etc. This is by the Bothy and is open on for an hour twice a week for emergency supplies. There are also the following pre made meals for sale
